Ramallah – In the presence of His Excellency Minister Muayyad Shaban, the National Insurance Company (NIC) signed a cooperation agreement with the Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority regarding the insurance service for "Settler Attacks and Occupation Forces" during a press conference today at the company's headquarters in Al-Bireh.

At the beginning of the conference, Mr. Aziz Abduljawad, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, welcomed the Minister and the distinguished attendees. He later added that, as part of the company's social responsibility towards our citizens and people in Palestine, the company initiated the introduction of a new insurance coverage, the first of its kind in the Palestinian insurance market. This coverage addresses the material damage incurred by Palestinian citizens' vehicles due to settler attacks and occupation forces since the beginning of June 2023. To complete the procedures for this service, the company is signing a cooperation agreement today with the Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority. One of the conditions for providing this service is that the Palestinian citizen documents and reports the damage suffered from settlers and occupation forces to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority.

Minister Muayyad Shaban thanked the National Insurance Company (NIC) and mentioned that this collaboration is extraordinary, especially amid the unprecedented escalation on the ground and continued attacks by settlers and occupation forces in all regions. He commended this service for our people, which has long been demanded through the media. He emphasized the private sector's national responsibility in light of the challenges facing our Palestinian cause, calling on all companies and sectors to work and collaborate collectively. The National Insurance Company has been a pioneer in this initiative, reflecting the support and resilience of the Palestinian citizens.

The service can be accessed by reporting and registering attacks with the Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority to provide the necessary data for preparing files to pursue the occupation, in addition to completing the insurance file opening procedures for compensation.

On the other hand, Mr. Bashar Hussein, the General Manager of the National Insurance Company, stated that the company is a leader in developing its insurance products and services due to its strong financial position. He mentioned that this service was launched about a month ago, with sales points available in all governorates. There has been significant interest from Palestinian citizens in obtaining this service, and the company encourages everyone to take advantage of it since they are ready to compensate the affected parties according to the principles.

The National Insurance Company (NIC), a public shareholding company, was one of the first Palestinian insurance companies established in 1992. The company has maintained a leading position in the insurance sector in Palestine for over 30 years. It operates according to strategies for continuous growth through its network of branches, offices, and agents throughout Palestine. Additionally, it enhances its leading role in social development through the company's social responsibility strategy.
