National Insurance Company (NIC) affirmed its commitment to the decision of the Palestinian Union of Insurance Companies regarding the decision issued by the Physicians' Union on 01/02/2023. This decision includes an increase in the examination fees for general and specialist doctors and a call to cease dealings with insurance companies. NIC considers this decision regrettable and unjust towards insurance companies as a private sector, with Palestinian citizens being the most affected by this resolution.

Mr. Bashar Hussein, the General Manager of NIC, emphasized the company's commitment to the decision of the Union of Insurance Companies and also to providing the best service to its clients related to health insurance. The company's plans will not be halted by the Physicians' Union decision. Consequently, invoices related to doctors complying with the Physicians' Union decision will be processed, received, and compensated based on the agreements between the company and medical centers. Doctors who continue to accept health insurance cards from subscribers will be dealt with as usual according to the signed agreements with them.

Mr. Hussein added that health insurance generally incurs significant annual losses for all insurance companies, and NIC, in particular, is committed to providing optimal service to its health insurance policyholders. The company is also committed to paying all dues to doctors at the agreed-upon rates with medical centers promptly.

It is worth mentioning that the National Insurance Company (NIC), a public shareholding company, was one of the first Palestinian insurance companies established in 1992. The company has maintained a leading position in the insurance sector in Palestine for over 30 years. The company operates according to strategies for continuous growth through its network of branches, offices, and agents throughout Palestine. Additionally, it enhances its leading role in social development through the company's social responsibility strategy.
